Hey friend! You MUST plan for private time during your wedding day - it won't happen if you don't!
Your wedding day will be filled with loved ones, excitement, and unforgettable memories, but carving out a few private moments for just you and your partner can make it even more meaningful.
Here are some ideas for building quiet time into your day:
- 💃 Private Last Dance – Consider ending the evening with a private dance. While guests prepare for the send-off, this is a chance for you to take a breath together, soak in the day, and enjoy your final dance as just the two of you. This can be tasked to a family friend or planner to coordinate, as you'll need to encourage guests to leave the dance floor. You can have your photographers hang back for photos or wait outside with guests to prep for a grand exit.
- 🪑❤️🪑Sweetheart Table – A sweetheart table can provide a PERFECT opportunity for some alone time during dinner. It’s a moment to share & reflect without distractions amidst the celebration. If you missed my email about sweetheart tables, definitely check it out—it was literally THE BEST thing we did on our wedding day. It might be the only time you have just the two of you all day!
- 🎂 Private Cake Cutting – If you want a more intimate feel for your cake-cutting moment, consider doing this in a quiet area before serving. This way, you can capture those cute cake-cutting photos without all eyes on you! (This is what I did—I didn't want everyone watching me cut the cake, plus we served ice cream instead and the cake was just for me and my husband!)
- 👫 Scheduled Alone Time – Whether it’s five minutes post-ceremony or a moment after dinner, blocking out time in your schedule to step away can help you reconnect and absorb everything happening around you. If you don’t schedule this and communicate its importance to your vendors, it might not happen.
Creating these small pockets of alone time will add intimacy to the day and give you memories that are just yours.
