You’ve booked a session with me — now what?
We’ve already nailed down your date, location, and time, so now we get to focus on the fun stuff: the little details that make your session feel effortless, personal, and totally “you.” This is where we fine-tune outfits, props, comfort items, and anything else that helps the shoot run smoothly and lets you relax into the moment.

What to wear

I don’t limit wardrobe changes, but I recommend keeping it to two outfits max. Choose looks that match your vibe whether thats beachy and casual or full-on glamorous, and make sure you feel genuinely confident in them.
Stick to coordinating colors, avoid anything uncomfortable, and think about how your outfit moves: can you twirl, run, or be picked up?
TIPS:
- Coordinate colors instead of matching. Avoid blue jeans and white-t on both of you look. It can feel like a Macy's photoshoot.
- Layers and texture always win.
- Make sure everything is clean, steamed, and fits well.
- If you plan to wear heels, bring an extra pair of comfy shoes to walk in from different spots.

What to bring

These are suggestions and not absolutely necessary but I have found that having these on hand during a session can make a big difference.
Bring whatever feels helpful and skip the rest. There's no pressure to haul a whole kit around, but I will have a backpack with me with extra space in case you want to throw anything in bag.
Handy things to toss in your bag:
- Water + a quick snack
- Blotting pads or powder
- Hairbrush — wind happens, especially at the beach.
- Towel — clutch for beach sessions in case things get splashy.
- Extra lipstick/gloss
- Flip Flops - for beach sessions, to walk back to your car.

Props

Props are an easy way to elevate your photos and spark those natural, candid moments that feel genuine. I love when couples bring things to play with because it gives us more ways to get creative and adds a ton of personality to your session.
Just think about the vibe you’re going for and choose items that fit.
Here are a few ideas:
- Champagne for a celebratory pop shot
- Your pet! (If you do this please have a friend bring them for 30 minutes and then take them home)
- Sunglasses for those cool, effortless moments
- Vintage camera for a fun, artsy touch
- Blanket for cozy or dynamic sitting shots
- Anything sentimental that feels like you two
- Flowers
- Champagne coupes or cute glasses — for slow-pour shots
- Ice cream or coffee — great if we’re shooting in a walkable area

PRIORITIZE COMFORT & PERSONALITY

If you don’t feel like you, you won’t love your photos. Confidence shows, and so does discomfort.
A quick PSA on hair and makeup trials — they can be amazing, or they can be a total flop. I’m not saying skip them, just plan them with enough buffer to tweak anything before the session. The same goes for your outfit choices. If you’re not loving the way something fits or moves, it’s going to bother you in the final gallery too.
Wear what feels good. Do what makes you feel like yourself. That comfort is what makes the photos shine.
The best photos come from leaning into who you are as a couple. The more personal your session feels, the more your gallery will tell your story, not just generic poses in a pretty spot.
Bring the quirks. Bring whatever makes the two of you you. A favorite hobby, a go-to drink, a silly prop, or a meaningful location, we’ll work it in. The more you lean into your dynamic, the easier it is for me to capture those natural, in-between moments you’ll actually treasure.
Think of this less like a formal photoshoot and more like a date with a third wheel who happens to have a camera. When your personality leads, the photos follow.

NEXT STEPS

For Jessica:
I will reach out closer to your date to check in and confirm our meeting location.
But I am available at any point to answer any questions you have. Just shoot me a text or email.
For you:
If you have a Pinterest board or any inspiration I should keep in mind please let me know and send it my way! I want to bring your vision to life but I can't do that if I don't know what the vision is.
PRO TIP: Make a dinner reservation after our session to turn it into a full day date and keep the good vibes going.
