What to expect
If you're dreaming of a Lafayette Hotel engagement session in San Diego, you're in for one of the most unique photo locations in the city. With its vintage architecture, colorful interiors, iconic pool, and beautifully designed spaces, The Lafayette Hotel in North Park, San Diego offers an incredible variety of backdrops all in one location. Whether you're planning an engagement session, anniversary photos, or even a Lafayette Hotel elopement, the property has so much to offer.
Before we dive into all of my favorite photo locations around The Lafayette Hotel, there are a few logistics you'll want to know.
The hotel only allows professional photoshoots Monday through Thursday between 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and they only permit one professional photoshoot at a time. Because availability is limited, I'll coordinate directly with the hotel to make sure your preferred date and time are available before we finalize your session.
The Lafayette also requires a location fee for professional photography in their public spaces. The current fee is $200 per hour, paid directly to the hotel when you arrive for your session. Reservations can be made for up to two hours, which gives us a little more flexibility to explore the property.
One thing many couples don't realize is just how expansive The Lafayette Hotel really is. There are dozens of incredible photo opportunities spread throughout the hotel, and while it's possible to visit several locations during a one-hour Lafayette Hotel photo shoot, we simply can't cover everything in that timeframe. If you'd like photos in nearly every area of the property, I highly recommend booking a two-hour session. That means your investment is $400 + my session fee.
That's exactly why I created this guide.
Below, I've broken down the different photo locations throughout The Lafayette Hotel in North Park, San Diego so you can see what each space looks like. Before your engagement session or Lafayette Hotel photoshoot, we'll go through your favorite areas together and prioritize the locations that best fit your vision. That way, we can spend less time deciding where to go and more time creating images you'll absolutely love.
